What is GRS? What is a GRS eco-friendly material bag?

1. What is GRS Certification?

GRS, or Global Recycled Standard, is an international third-party environmental certification system established by the Dutch non-profit organization Textile Exchange.

Its purpose is to verify the recycled content of products and ensure the entire production chain meets standards for environmental responsibility, traceability, non-toxicity, and socially responsible practices.

  • Country of Origin: The Netherlands

  • Managing Organization: Textile Exchange (https://textileexchange.org)

  • Certification Scope: Products, factories, and supply chains containing recycled materials

  • Auditing Body (we work with): IDFL (Headquartered in the USA, with global offices)

2. How Do We Produce GRS Eco-Friendly Material Bags?

Our products comply with GRS certification standards and are audited annually on-site by IDFL, a third-party organization. From the source of recycled materials to the final shipment, the entire process is fully traceable, transparent, and compliant.

GRS Certification Process (Annual):

  • Around October: IDFL conducts on-site audits

  • Audit Scope: All documentation and production processes related to GRS-certified products

  • Around November: Certification is renewed for the following year

3. What Is a GRS Eco-Friendly Material Bag?

A GRS eco-friendly material bag is made from GRS-certified recycled materials and can be customized with different blending ratios according to customer needs:

  • 50% GRS-certified recycled material + 50% PE (polyethylene)

  • 100% GRS-certified recycled material

Each production batch is supported by complete documentation for traceability and verification:

Verification Documents for Eco-Friendly Bags:

  • Quotation, purchase orders, production work orders

  • Material issue slips, warehouse receipts, delivery notes, and invoices

Verification Documents for Recycled Materials:

  • Waste film collection records

  • Recycled material purchase invoices

  • Production work order logs

  • Pelletizing records

  • Finished product inventory records

4. Why Is Bulk Ordering Not Always Cheaper?

Many customers ask:
"Will the price be lower if we place larger orders?"

Not necessarily. Recycled materials are not standard stock materials—they are collected from various sources and then reprocessed.

The process is complex and materials are limited, making them more valuable:

  • Collecting waste film from different companies, factories, and warehouses

  • Washing, sorting, and adjusting ratios

  • Melting and reprocessing into recycled plastic pellets

  • Film blowing and bag manufacturing

For long-term and high-volume supply needs (more than 3 tons per month), we recommend signing a long-term procurement agreement to ensure stable supply and reasonable pricing while avoiding shortages.

5. Why Choose GRS-Certified Products?

  • Truly Eco-Friendly: Full traceability from raw material to finished product

  • Globally Recognized: GRS is a widely accepted international standard, enhancing customer trust and brand image

  • Supports Circular Economy: Reduces dependence on virgin plastic materials

  • Well-Documented: Complete documentation is available for clients and end brands for audits and traceability
