In today’s market, many so-called “eco-friendly garbage bags” or “green films” highlight the use of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) as their main environmental feature, leading consumers to believe such products are more sustainable.

However, in reality, calcium carbonate is primarily added to plastics to reduce production costs and increase stiffness — not because it is an eco-friendly or recyclable material. It is neither renewable nor truly sustainable.

In fact, excessive addition of calcium carbonate makes plastic bags more brittle and less stretchable during recycling, lowering the quality of recycled materials and making reuse and processing more difficult.

That’s why WENCHEN firmly refuses to add calcium carbonate to any of our eco-friendly products.

We reject the use of “greenwashing” tactics that disguise cost-cutting measures as environmental benefits, and we refuse to mislead consumers into purchasing products that appear green but aren’t.

Our goal is to eliminate greenwashing and prove genuine sustainability through real action.
